Kenshiru’s Journey

Kenshiru’s Journey is my write-up of an epic table-top Legend of the Five Rings game played from late 1998 to early 2000. Tony V was the GM and myself (Kenshiru), John H (Jinsho), Lesley (Shiniko) and John G (Takashima) were the players.

On the casting front it should be noted that the characters were younger versions of the actors. Curiously we picked Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung long before they were in Jet Li’s Hero together.

Prologue
Of Kenshiru’s father and childhood.

Story 1: The Topaz Championship
In which Kenshiru, Jinsho and Shiniko compete at the illustrious Topaz Championship.

Story 2: Murder at Kyotei Castle
In which Kenshiru, Jinsho and Shiniko must solve a murder.

Story 3: Reign of Terror
In which Kenshiru, Jinsho, Shiniko and Takashima find themselves in a township beset by evil.

Story 4: Guarding the Scrolls
In which Kenshiru, Jinsho, Shiniko and Takashima must escort a collection of valuable scrolls to the Shrine of the Ki-Rin.

Story 5: The Winter Court
In which Kenshiru, Jinsho, Shiniko and Takashima accept the invitation of the Hantei princess and attend the Winter Court.

Story 6: The Kidnapping of Princess Yoroshiko
In which Kenshiru, Jinsho, Shiniko and Takashima must rescue Princess Yoroshiko from her kidnappers.

Story 7: The Night of a Thousand Screams
In which Kenshiru, Jinsho, Shiniko and Takashima face evil within the walls of Ryoko Owari.
